Leaving for Australia!!

No, we aren't leaving for Australia but a good friend of Ross's left for a new life in Oz yesterday. Ross has been friends with Will since they were 4 years old and we were friends with his Mum and Dad too although we haven't seen them as much lately, Ross was at the same primary school and high school as Will. They had a leaving party on Saturday night which Ross found quite hard to deal with. I wasn't upset until I saw Ross upset and then he told me he had given his friend one of his prized leather bracelets to remember him by, well that just set me off!!

Anyway, of course there was a card involved! I wanted to make them a little Good Luck card and knew straight away which set I wanted to use!

The stamp set is Summer Splash from the mini catalogue. I got the idea to colour the surfboards in with my markers from my downline and friend Sharon who made a fab scrapbook page at my class a couple of months ago. The "sand" is So Saffron card punched out with the oval punch and then I have inked the edges.

I used my sponge daubers and the Bashful Blue ink pad to make the sky and the sentiment is from Sincere Salutations.

Little bit of old faithful Old Olive ribbon for the finishing touch

Right I need to pack for tonights Tuesday Club, we have a whopping 12 ladies there tonight!!!

Ruby Wedding Guest Book

Hello there!! I think I am getting later with these postings each day!!!

One of my lovely Stampin Up customers, Anne, celebrated her Ruby Wedding Anniversary this weekend and her Daughter in Law was very sneaky and asked me to make a Ruby Wedding Guestbook for their guests to sign at their party.

I went with a very similar design to the Silver Wedding one I did in June. I stamped the flowers from Vintage Vogue in Cherry Cobbler and then I stamped them over the top in Versamark and clear embossing powder then blasted it with my heat gun and it gave the flowers a lovely shiney effect.
The papers are from the Regals DSP stack in Cherry Cobbler.

You can see a better picture of the flowers in the next 2 photos. I added some Pearls to finish it off!

I really enjoyed making this, makes a nice change to cards and I hope Anne liked it and Anne, hope you had a wonderful celebration.

Well thats it for me again today, going to watch Ross play cricket and then carry on clearing out my craft area!!

Anniversary Card

Good morning!! Gosh I am getting used to these lie ins! I am going to have to start getting up early next week to prepare for school in just over a weeks time.

This is the card I made for my lovely Robin for our 15th wedding anniversary.

He didn't realise but I have added 15 hearts to symbolise this. I got the idea of the heart coming out if the mini envelope from a card I saw my mummy Monica do at a training event. I loved the idea. The envelope is made with the Petal Card punch.

Papers are Love Letter which I will be sad to see them go next month, I have enjoyed working with these ones. The stamps I used were the Artistic Etchings and I used the Monogram Sweet alphabet for our initials.

Well I am getting very excited as its nearly that time of year again!! The New Catalogue will be arriving on 1st October and as a demo we get a sneak peek very soon. Be sure to pre-order your copy of the catalogue on my blog. Hostesses or Stampin Club members will get one FREE!!

Laura's Birthday Card

Good morning. Firstly I wanted to say thanks to all my ladies who attended the Stamp a Stack last night - I had a brilliant night and it went much smoother than I thought! Who would have thought everyone would leave with 12 cards done in one evening!! I will show the cards over this coming week.

OK so yesterday was my lovely Laura's birthday and I am safe to show her card as I know she has now received it!

Similar to the one I made for Allie, I have used the Newsprint paper and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. This time I have used the Fun Flowers die to make the large flower.

I have also used the Rich Razzleberry ribbon that you get in the free gift bag, only available until 31st August.

I got a bit snap happy with the photos for this one !

Christmas Club Cards

Good morning, a bit deary today but its a lovely day as it is my lovely downline Laura's birthday - Happy Birthday Laura love!!! I will show Laura's card another day as I want to make sure it got there first!!

These are the cards we made at Christmas Club on Monday - 5 of each design.

Quite simple card but very effective with the inlaid embossing technique. I love this striped wide ribbon, so many things you can do with it. This time I tied a little piece of silver cord around it to "pinch" it in.
The next card was very different, using the Welcome Christmas stamp set. Colour combo is REal REd, Chocolate Chip and Garden Green (a green I don't use enough).

I was quite pleased with this card, it sort of came together by accident, which I think happens sometimes!
Here are both the cards together!

Right thats me done, I must get the final things ready for my Stamp a Stack this evening!!

Baby Boy Christening Card

Good morning. I had a lovely day yesterday as my first day as a fully fledged SU full timer!! I did no stamping!!!! Can you believe it? I spent the day with the boys, sorting out things for school etc.....

A good friend asked me to make a Christening Card for her for a baby boy. I love doing baby cards!!

I used the Bundle of Love set and paper pieced the pram with the Baja Breeze DSP from the stack and coloured the rest in with my markers. I added the Crumb Cake as it was a very blue card without it!!
Personalised the card by printing a sentiment on my PC and punching it out with the Designer Label Punch which I then punched out again and layered behind the white one.

My friend liked the card so all was good!!!

Back tomorrow with more SU!!

End of an Era but the start of a fantastic new one!!

Good morning!! The sun is shining and its a lovely day. Today is my 15th Wedding Anniversary and its also another very special day for me!!

As you may know I have my own wedding stationery business as well as running my Stampin Up business. Well in February I made the decision that I was going to stop doing the weddings as my Stampin Up team was growing and I needed to spend more time on Stampin Up - there is so much more I want to do with it!!

Its been a really long 6 months as of course I had to honour the wedding orders I had already taken on. Thats a really hard task once you know you are stopping!!

Yesterday was the day I completed my last order and I am sooo happy I cannot begin to tell you! I cannot believe that Stampin Up is now going to be my ONLY source of income and my career. I couldn't work for a better company - I truly believe that!!

I am of course so grateful to all my wedding customers and I am immensely proud of the business I built up over the last 4,5 years from scratch and all by myself! But now its the end of that chapter and the start of a very exciting new one!

So in honour of my lovely wedding business that served me well for the last few years I am leaving you with a few of my favourite items from over the years. I will be back with Stampin Up tomorrow!!

Happy Birthday Allie

Yesterday it was my lovely downline Allie's birthday. This is the card I sent her which I hope she received yesterday!!

As you can see I am making the most of the Rich Razzleberry Ribbon that you can get FREE this month with an order of £75 or more, along with the scrummy bag and clips!

I have used the Build A Blossom stamp set which I earned free sometime ago but I have never used it! I have to say the punch was still in the wrapper too!! So I dusted it off to make this card - hope you like it!!

I used some Newsprint papers which again I haven't used for a while and also the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder which is still my favourite one!!

Hope you had a lovely day Allie and got lots of handmade cards!!!

Bekka's Birthday Card

Good morning - its sunny again -Yeah!!!

On Saturday it was my dear friend and fellow SU Demo Bekka's birthday. I tried something different on her card!! Well 2 things actually!!

Firstly I inked the embossing folder, Elegant Bouquet with Crumb Cake ink using the brayer and achieved the lovely effect of the embossed parts "popping" out as the ink does not take hold of these bits.

I also tried making a ribbon type rose with the Rich Razzleberry grosgrain ribbon. My friend Victoria makes really good ones, mine is very slap dash but I tried my best for a first attempt!!!

I even sewed a large button on the middle with some linen thread!! Get me, sewing by hand on a card!! The leaves are from the Little LEaves die and the sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations set, still firm favourite!

Bekka received the card OK and I think it was all in one piece!!!!

I will be beck tomorrow to show you a card I made for Allie, one of my wonderful downline for her birthday which is today - Have a lovely day Allie!!

Fun Scrapbooking

Good morning, its a sunny one here in Yorkshire

Yesterday I had my Scrapbook Club and we had a very lovely chilled out afternoon making 2 layouts on the them of A DAY OUT!! I chose to scrapbook some photos from our trip to Florida 4 years ago when we went on the safari at Animal Kingdom

The colour combo was Bashful Blue, Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake, the ladies get a kit provided by me and it includes all the card they need and also some accessories. This month they got some twill tape, linen thread and jumbo eyelets.

I used the Leaves die for the first time on my page and I stamped it with a stamp from Circle Circus which has given it a scaly look!!

I also used Fox and Friends and the Schoolbook Serif alphabet and number set

I remembered to take my camera this time, took 3 photos and then forgot to take any more - was too busy gassing I think!!

This is Ellie's layout, she is my good friend from dancing and hasn't been scrapbooking long. I LOVE her layouts. She chose to use photos of a day in the Lakes when they went on a boat ride. The first page looks all calm

then get to the second page when her son and hubby were driving the boat!!! Life buoys at the ready!! Love how Ellie has made her lifebuoys with the circle punches.

Ginnette went for a bubbly effect with her Discovery Cove page and I think this so works. What a fab layout!

We also had some other fab layouts and I am sorry I forgot to take photos girls!!!

I will be back with a card tomorrow, come back soon

One for the boys!

Good morning

This is a scheduled post as I will be at the hairdressers this morning having a long overdue hair cut and colour!!! Shame I am not going out anywhere tonight to show it off - typical!!!!

My good friend Bev from dancing asked me to make her a card for her son Lyel who is turning 16. I asked her what he is into and she said Football and he supports Newcastle. Well living in a house with 3 males I have to know a bit about sport and straight away I knew it had to feature black and white stripes.

This is a large 8x8 inch card.

I have tried to take the next 2 photos of this card to show you my favourite feature on it, I stamped the footballs onto the black card in Versamark and then embossed them with clear embossing powder to give the shiny effect, I really like this look! Hope you can tell from the photos!
This is a retired stamp set by the way and I had to call upon my trusty downline Sarah-Jane to loan me the set - thanks SJ

Once I had finished the card I was worried it might not be "Newcastle" enough, so I said to Ross, "if you saw this card on someones mantlepiece, what football team would you think they supported" - his reply was Newcastle, perfect!!

Back tomorrow with details of todays scrapbook club!
